The Last Supper: Larry Bill Elliott
On January 2, 2001, Robert Finch was shot three times in the head, chest, and back. His girlfriend, Dana Thrall, was pistol whipped and shot three times in the head.
Two children, ages 4 and 6, were upstairs in the townhouse while the murders took place.
Larry Bill Elliott was convicted for the murders and sentenced to death. At the time of the murders Elliott’s girlfriend, Rebecca Gragg, was involved in a bitter custody dispute with Robert Finch (her ex-boyfriend); apparently Elliott viewed this act of brutal violence as a way of endearing himself to the woman he loved. Gragg would later testify in court that Elliott called her the night of the murders. “He said all our problems had been taken care of and we could get on with out life.”
Elliott was executed by electrocution on November 17, 2009.
Elliott consumed a final meal, he asked that his choice not be revealed to the public.
In keeping with Elliott’s request for privacy, this still life arrangement has been hidden behind a white shroud. In patches, blood seeps through the veil, hinting at the violence that underpins this mystery.
