Memento Mori

Bio and contact info for Neal Auch.

I take pictures of dead things.

I’m a Canadian artist with a keen interest in death, decay, and transience.

A limited selection of prints are available in my online store.

I’ve dabbled in various media over the years, but have recently adopted photography as a primary creative outlet and my practice is informed by an eclectic background that encompasses experimental music, transgressive literature, and academic mathematics.

My prints have been exhibited in galleries, including The Shadowood Collective’s 2018 show. (The collective also includes world renown artist, writer and filmmaker Clive Barker). My photography has been published in print in the coffee table book Aesthetics of Sickness, alongside works of prominent contemporary artists such as Andres Serrano, and interviews with well-known bands including Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, and Napalm Death. My work has also been published in print in Propulsion Magazine and Suspira Magazine. I have been featured/interviewed in a number of online publications over the last few years, including the Phoblographer, ND Magazine, Cvltartes Magazine, Float Magazine, and Culture Fancier. I occasionally show up as a vendor at The Bazaar of the Bizarre, the Punk Rock Flea Market, the Hamilton Art Crawl, and Resurrection.
